Second Stage:  The second stage consists of a tightly packed bed of granular activated carbon(GAC).  The unique internal design of the cartridge ensures a prolonged GAC contact time and minimizes many of the problems usually associated with GAC filters such as carbon channelling.  A final post filter within the cartridge reduces the transmission of carbon fines.
